About the event
For more than 17 years, Compassion Advocacy Network and the Taylor Bend Family YMCA have worked together to ensure nursing home residents are remembered during the Christmas season. This partnership has grown into a cherished tradition of kindness, dignity, and community connection. Through the CAN Angel Tree, individuals, families, businesses, and community groups select participating nursing home residents and provide thoughtfully chosen Christmas gifts. Each ornament identifies the resident’s gender and the item they would like to receive for Christmas. As CAN approaches its 25th anniversary, we invite volunteers to help continue this meaningful tradition: 1. Select an Angel Tree ornament from the tree at the Taylor Bend Family YMCA. 2. Purchase the requested item. 3. Gift-wrap the item and securely attach the ornament. 4. Place the gift under the tree at the Taylor Bend Family YMCA by December 17, 2026.
